New look, same place; new flavors, same pizza.
When Greenwich
temporarily closed for renovation, I was a bit sad because it was one of the
two fast foods in SM where Kenn and I prefer to order when we are to load carbs
prior to race day. Its words of promise was the very thing I can only look
forward to, good things come to those who
wait.
Truly, a month after
it reopened on the 5th of June, I was honestly awed with the
transformation. I have never expected that a typical ‘counter and dining area’
in white, red and green colored fast food will turn out to be more rustic with
a classical vibe similar to that of Italian pizzerias through assemblage of
wooden pizza peels, tin bucket and ceramics. Another noticeable feature is the
maximum use of the little space divided appropriately where it has now a lounge,
main dining area, balcony, and enclosed dining stage which can be used for
small events.
Greenwich SM is the
first in Cagayan de Oro to integrate mid-century ambiance in a modern fast
food. It is said that all other branch will have the same concept, so if my
memory’s not betraying me, then we have to wait for some 5 years from last
renovation for the other Greenwich stores to give us the same surprise as what
GW SM did. Well, anyway, I don’t mean that we have to ask around regarding a
store’s last renovation. *hehe* we’ll have to wait and see, though.
Furthermore, aside
from the new look that the store exhibited, its patrons are also introduced to
Greenwich’s new flavors: Bacon Cheese Pizza and Bacon Crispy Thins. It’s the
same pizza we all loved but more cheesified and baconized. An addition to old
favorites, yes!
Well, what more can I
say? Good things come to those who wait indeed.
